Kelle Kenzik
Licensed Clinical Therapist
Telehealth Psychotherapy

Hi! First let me start by sharing that I am so happy you're here. My name is Kelle and I am a licensed clinical therapist in New York State that has been practicing for nearly a decade. I want to take a moment to acknowledge your strength for making it to this point. Taking the leap to begin therapy can feel overwhelming. I personally struggled in therapy with finding the right fit, and I want to provide guidance to others in a way that makes sense.   From a young age and due to personal traumatic experiences I went through, I knew in my gut I wanted to help people.  I strive to use methods that work best for you, to meet your goals and needs.

Early in my career, I worked in a school with teenagers and families struggling with emotional and academic difficulties related to school phobia, self-injury, trauma, and bullying. I was inspired to work independently and gain more experience, which led me to a clinic and working in private practice. Here I provided individual therapy to children, teenagers, and adults with a multitude of emotional challenges. Through my learnings and experience here, I decided to niche down to working with adults with anxiety, trauma, and dating/relationship struggles. I then ventured out and started my own private practice in 2021 and I absolutely love it!

About Me

What is my approach?

I use the online platform in a positive way which allows mental health therapy to be more accessible for everyone. I recognize that therapy can feel intimidating, vulnerable, and even painful. I have found that if you are able to be in the comfort of your own home in a private space, it can help therapy feel more secure. My aspiration for my clients is for you to feel safe, heard, and empowered while on this journey together. During the intake process, I really take the time to build our relationship and get to know you. From there, we will work together to set realistic goals. My style during sessions is very engaged and hands on. I have a direct, and warm approach in challenging you to become the best version of yourself, while collaborating as a team.

What do I specialize in and what therapy methods do I use?

I specialize in trauma, anxiety, and challenges with dating and relationships.  I use EMDR, CBT, mindfulness, solution-focused, and strengths based methods. These modalities are research based and have been proven effective in treating who I specialize in working with. I myself, personally practice and use these interventions that I implement in therapy. My goal as your therapist is to teach you how to feel more grounded within yourself, and to live the life you deserve.

What to expect when working with me?

Client's can expect to take away an overall better understanding of themselves where they feel empowered, connected, and secure. Client's can expect to be challenged, as well as supported and seen. I am truly passionate about the work I do. I feel grateful and inspired by clients that trust me and choose to work with me. I would love to support you in your journey, and I can't wait to work with you!

Individual therapy is a combined process between a therapist and person in therapy. Common goals in therapy can be to inspire change or improve quality of life. With individual therapy you learn to become more self aware of your thoughts, triggers, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we develop coping mechanisms and strategies to create the positive changes you envision.

Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective in the treatment of trauma.  This treatment is aimed to reduce the vividness and intensity of emotions of traumatic memories. This structured therapy encourages the client to focus on traumatic memories while simultaneously engaging in bilateral stimulation/eye movements. Ongoing research also shows positive outcomes with EMDR helping treat anxiety, OCD, and PTSD. Grounding and resourcing tools are implemented and practiced with clients prior to reprocessing disturbing memories.
